quarries quarries located in 7 of France's 23 regions.
Half of the blocks come from quarries owned by Rocamat, and
the other half comes from quarries operated by Rocamat under
a quarrying contract
.
Quarrying involves various cutting techniques : Undercutting,
which is essentially used in soft stone quarries, Diamond
wire cutting, the technique most commonly used in hard
rock and marble quarries.
We often start by precutting and toppling large masses, then
cutting them into blocks.
